What matters in a gaming desk
Desk width and depth
Choose around the monitors, not only the keyboard. Leave space for display stands or monitor-arm clamp points, speakers, a mic arm and comfortable mouse movement. Plan a deeper cable path if the desk will face a wall.
Monitor-arm compatibility
Check the monitor’s weight without its factory stand, VESA pattern and the arm’s published weight range. For a clamp mount, confirm that the desktop edge is flat, clear and within the arm’s supported thickness and clamp depth.
PC location, movement and airflow
If the PC sits under the desk, leave room for airflow and access to ports. On a sit-stand desk, route cables with enough slack for the full travel range and check them at both sitting and standing height. A PC holder needs a verified fit for tower dimensions and desk-mounting method.
Cable management
