A low overseas listing price can be attractive. For a motorised, heavy desk, compare the complete purchase before deciding: delivery, assembly, return process, warranty route, replacement parts and what happens if the desk develops a fault.

Compare the complete order

Check the final checkout amount, what is included, delivery scope, assembly, any access constraints, return shipping responsibility and the seller's written warranty terms. Do not assume two similar-looking desks have the same motors, frame range, desktop, accessories or after-sales process.

Why support matters for a moving desk

Desks have mechanical and electronic parts. If a handset, control box, motor, cable or desktop component needs attention, ask who diagnoses the issue, where parts come from and whether support is local.

What ULTI publishes

ULTI's current warranty terms state three-year coverage for electronic and lifting parts, with a documented claim process. Product-specific terms still apply, so check the live product page before ordering.

Buyer checklist

  1. Compare the delivered, complete order.
  2. Confirm assembly and access arrangements.
  3. Read the return and warranty process.
  4. Ask about replacement parts and repair support.
  5. Check the exact desk range and workspace fit.

Use ULTI's standing desk finder before choosing.

How to use this guide for your own setup

A practical way to make this decision

Start with the measurements in your actual room, not the dimensions in a product photo. Record the clear width and depth of the desk position, the route from the building entrance to the room, and anything that limits access such as a lift, doorway, skirting, window ledge or fixed cabinet. For a sit-stand desk, also measure where a chair, drawer unit and PC will sit when the desk is at its lowest and highest positions.

Use a three-part check before ordering

  1. Fit: compare the usable desktop area with your equipment, including monitor-arm clamps, laptop stands, speakers and a writing zone. Leave space behind the desk if cables or arms need to move.
  2. Movement: list every item that must move with the desk. A desktop PC, power strip and fixed cable can restrict height adjustment even when the tabletop itself fits.
  3. Support: read the delivery, assembly, return and warranty terms before paying. For a large powered product, confirm the seller can help with the exact version you are buying and that replacement parts can be identified if a controller, cable or motor needs attention.

Questions worth asking a seller

  • What is included in delivery and setup, and what site conditions can create an extra charge?
  • Which measurements should I provide before ordering?
  • What is the published height range, load guidance and desk-top material for this exact configuration?
  • How are warranty claims handled and what information is needed to diagnose an issue?

ULTI buyers can use the standing desk finder, visit the showroom, and review the warranty terms before choosing. That turns this guide from a general idea into a check you can complete for your own room.

Example: checking a desk setup before delivery

Imagine a desk that fits between two walls when measured as a static rectangle. The setup can still fail in daily use if a desktop PC is fixed to the floor, a monitor arm cannot clear the wall, or a power lead becomes tight when the desk rises. A better plan is to place masking tape at the proposed footprint, sit in the chair, and trace where equipment and cables will travel from low to high positions.

Record these numbers

  • Clear room width and depth, including skirting and any doors that swing into the space.
  • Desktop size, height range and the user’s comfortable keyboard height.
  • Space behind the desk for monitor arms, cable movement and ventilation.
  • Weight and position of every item that will move with the tabletop.

Keep this note with the order confirmation. It gives you a useful reference if you need to discuss fit, installation or a later change to the setup.
