Standing Desk Delivery & Installation: What Singapore Buyers Should Know

6 min read

Most standing desks arrive flat-packed, not assembled. Here's what to actually expect on delivery day and how to plan for it.

Standing desk components ready for assembly after delivery in Singapore

Standing desk listings rarely explain what actually happens between checkout and having a working desk in your room. Here's what to plan for.

Shipping timelines

Delivery timing depends on the selected product and option. Review the current product page and checkout for the applicable timing, and tracking is sent when an order leaves the warehouse.

What actually arrives

Nearly all standing desks, including Ulti's, ship flat-packed: the frame components, motor legs, and tabletop arrive as separate pieces in one or more boxes, not pre-assembled. This is standard for the category and keeps shipping practical — a fully assembled desk frame would be far more expensive and awkward to ship.

Plan for self-assembly

Budget time and a clear floor area to assemble the desk once it arrives — this is a two-person job for most frames, mainly because the tabletop is unwieldy to hold and attach solo, not because any single step is difficult. A basic toolkit (screwdriver, sometimes a hex key) is typically included with the desk.

What to check before you consider it done

Before you consider the desk set up, check that: the frame sits flat and doesn't rock on your floor, the height adjustment runs smoothly through its full range without grinding or catching, and all the fasteners are actually tightened (not just started). A desk that wobbles right out of the box is worth flagging to the seller immediately rather than living with it.

HDB and BTO delivery access

If you're in a walk-up block or a unit with a long corridor to the lift, mention this when you order if the retailer offers it as an option — flat-packed boxes are manageable but can be bulky, and knowing the access situation in advance avoids a delivery-day surprise.

Warranty starts at delivery, not assembly

All warranty coverage periods begin on the date of delivery. Arc Pro includes a 3-year standard warranty, and its current extension options are set out on the warranty page. Check the selected product's published terms before ordering, then test the desk thoroughly in the first few weeks rather than assuming you can decide later.

The bottom line

Expect flat-packed delivery within a couple of business days, budget for a two-person self-assembly, and check for flatness and smooth height adjustment before you consider the setup finished. If the desk is stuck, uneven or showing an error after those checks, use our standing desk reset and troubleshooting guide. If you'd rather see a fully assembled desk before committing, visit the Ulti showroom first.

Choosing an electric standing desk?

Compare workspace width, monitor count and PC placement with ULTI's published desk dimensions before deciding.

Find the right standing desk size

Example: checking a desk setup before delivery

Imagine a desk that fits between two walls when measured as a static rectangle. The setup can still fail in daily use if a desktop PC is fixed to the floor, a monitor arm cannot clear the wall, or a power lead becomes tight when the desk rises. A better plan is to place masking tape at the proposed footprint, sit in the chair, and trace where equipment and cables will travel from low to high positions.

Record these numbers

  • Clear room width and depth, including skirting and any doors that swing into the space.
  • Desktop size, height range and the user’s comfortable keyboard height.
  • Space behind the desk for monitor arms, cable movement and ventilation.
  • Weight and position of every item that will move with the tabletop.

Keep this note with the order confirmation. It gives you a useful reference if you need to discuss fit, installation or a later change to the setup.
